Ultimate Safelist Survival: What is a safelist anyway?
What is a Safelist?
Basically a safelist is a gathering of like minded individuals who have agreed to exchanges ads. You agree to receive ads from all the others members in exchange for the opportunity to send your own. This concept has many advantages, here's a couple of them.
The advantages of safelist marketing
For one it's spam free as people have to double opt-in to the safelist and thereby agreeing to receive your ads, should some nutter decide that the safelist mail is spam anyway it's not really your problem as the mail is not sent from your email address or server. Actually this is the origin of the name, a safelist is a closed community where it is safe for members to exchange ads.
The second advantage is quite obvious but many people fail to see this, what does all safelist members have in common? They have something to sell, but they have not advanced far enough in their internet marketing career to dismiss a very mundane task as posting to safelist is. That means that if you have a product, report, e-book, income opportunity etc. that can help people on the way to internet glory, the average safelist user is an excellent prospect for you - GRIN is exactly the system they want and need!
Why I will always use safelists
I could probably make do without safelists but I sure wont. Safelist are a starting point for many newbie marketers and picking those up as subscribers and customers can be very profitable e.g. they do not own every product out there and they do not know everything, meaning that you have plenty of stuff to sell them.
Bonus Tips On Safelists
In addition I would like to add that with safelists you need to know your strategy. The same is with any advertising but even more with safelists. You should sign up for two FRESH gmail accounts before joining any safelists. For example: yournamecontact@gmail.com and yournamesafelist@gmail.com (one for contact address and one for safelist address)... without this you will get way too much e-mail in your regular inbox so you need to make sure you have separate e-mail addresses just for safelist advertising.
In a safelist like most advertising you need to give them what they want. If your offer is something that can help them (or most people) then it will be more favorable. This is why advertising GRIN will do wonders for you!
Also, DO NOT ever use any safelists that allow automation of any kind. Safelist submitters, etc. simply DO NOT work, and give safelists a bad name.
Depending on the type of safelist (credit based safelist may be best - especially for newbies) you need to know what you are doing. If you are just starting I would recommend first using Credit Based Safelists since then your subject and ad copy is not as important for them to actually see your site. However, when you look through the safelist e-mails that you receive, look briefly over them and try to pick out subject lines that grab YOUR attention. Keep them in a personal swipe file (notepad, etc) so that you can go back if you ever have trouble thinking of a subject line to use yourself. Being creative will always work... draw the reader in and build up their curiosity to the max.
I have also compiled a list of safelists you can get started with, these are the safelists I have found to be most effective, but it is also a great idea to sign up for as many safelists as you can so that you can get your advertising out there as much as possible! So always have a look-out for new safelists to advertise with.

Network Marketing for the 21st Century
Network marketing has always been a great way to get the word out about any business. No matter what product or service you are selling, with network marketing you can increase your sales in no time at all. And in today’s day and age, network marketing is more effective than ever before. In the past network marketing was a great way to make contacts as well as sales, but this has grown more than anybody could have expected. If you do not take advantage of network marketing, you will never reach your fullest sales potential.
If you do not know what network marketing is, there is no reason to give up. The fact of the matter is that network marketing is quite easy to understand; it is exactly what it sounds like. With network marketing you get your name out there by networking with other people, and making contacts. The more people that you know, the better chance you have of making sales. And remember, the contacts that you make have contacts of their own. So in time, word begins to spread about your offerings.
Network marketing is all about getting in touch with the people that can help you out the most. And of course you helping them, too. Your number one target should be people in your direct industry. In other words, people that would be interested in buying your product are people that you should network with.
The best way to get started in network marketing is by making yourself accessible to a large amount of people. Believe it or not, social networking sites such as Myspace, AdlandPro, and Direct Matches have become quite popular for individuals and businesses alike. With these services you can introduce yourself to millions of people without ever having to do too much work. And of course with each person that you meet, you have added another person to your network.
The good thing about network marketing is that you may not make a sale today from somebody that you meet. But down the line that same person may be looking for a product or service that you offer. The key is to keep you in their mind with relation to your offering. None of this is possible unless you get the word out, and are not afraid to network in an aggressive manner. But never become a pest or you will be avoided altogether.
If you want to make big profits, network marketing can help to put you on the right track. For many years businesses have been using network marketing as a way to reach the next level, and today this still holds true.
Generally speaking, network marketing does not cost a thing. All you have to do is find people to network with and get started. It does not get much easier, and cost efficient than that.

Are You Poisoning Your Children?
Dr. George Grant, Founder of the International Academy of Wellness, wrote an article about home cleaning products. This is an excerpt of his article.
Are you poisoning your children?
I would like to share this information with you. It's pretty scary when you think of all those people who use toxic chemicals to clean their home and don't know the dangers. I used to be one of those people who had no clue that the chemicals I was using were so harmful.
More children under four die of accidental poisonings at home than are accidentally killed with guns at home. The average home today contains more chemicals than were found in a typical chemistry lab. Go into your kitchen and your bathroom and look under your sinks where you keep your cleaning and personal care supplies. What have you found? Window cleaner? Bleach? Dishwashing detergent? Shampoo? Toothpaste? If you read the label on toothpaste, it says not to swallow the paste!
These products can be violent lethal poisons with the potential to kill or seriously injure your child. Most dishwashing detergents include naphta, which is a central nervous system depressant, diethanolamine, a possible liver poison, and chlorophenylphenol, a metabolic stimulant that is considered a toxic substance.
Of all chemicals commonly found in homes, 150 have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer and psychological abnormalities. We have a higher rate of kids with cancer and learning disabilities than ever. If that doesn't say we're doing something wrong in our environment, I'd hate to see what it takes! According to the American Cancer Society, there has been a 26 percent increase in cancer over the last 2 decades!
You should also be concerned about the air that you and your children breathe. Cleaning products and some personal care products release toxic vapors into the air when they are used and even when they are stored. Children may be particularly vulnerable to chemical fumes. They inhale more air per pound of body weight than adults, and because pollutants are generally heavier than air and collect closer to the floor, small children breath greater concentrations than do grown ups.
Most of us are concerned about the environment, but isn't the environment within our own homes the most important? If the home care and personal care products we are using are toxic and harmful, we are hurting ourselves, our families and the environment.
Indoor air pollution is a suspected culprit in sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). In 1983, our research team at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, pioneered early research on SIDS & Endorphins. SIDS is higher in the winter because of decreased ventilation!

Hazardous Household Wastes
What's Happening in Campbell County, Kentucky just released their Spring/Summer 2008 edition. This is the usual Blah Blah Blah that governments publish and only people with a lot of time on their hand read. I was sorting the mail over the recycle bin while I was cooking dinner and glanced through the publication.
Sanitation District No. 1 published an article which caught my eye entitled Not Down My Drain. Listen to this recommendation to protect our waterways:
"Properly disposing household products such as cleansers, beauty products, medicine, auto fluids, used motor oil, paint, and lawn care products at your local household hazardous waste facility."
Cleansers? Beauty Products? Hazardous Waste???? YES!!
When consumers buy commercial cleaning products, we expect them to do one thing: clean! Many use a wide array of scents, soaps, detergents, bleaching agents, softeners, scourers, polishes, and specialized cleaners for bathrooms, glass, drains, and ovens to keep homes sparkling and sweet-smelling. But while the chemicals in cleaners foam, bleach, and disinfect to make our dishes, bathtubs and countertops gleaming and germ-free, many also contribute to indoor air pollution, are poisonous if ingested, and can be harmful if inhaled or touched. In fact, some cleaners are among the most toxic products found in the home.
In 2000, cleaning products were responsible for nearly 10% of all toxic exposures reported to U.S. Poison Control Centers, accounting for 206,636 calls. Of these, 120,434 exposures involved children under six, who can swallow or spill cleaners stored or left open inside the home.
Sure, everyone can figure out that if it's "harsh" like oven cleaner or drain cleaner, it must be bad. But how can you scour with a cleanser and not contaminate yourself and your home? And those window cleaners and all-purpous cleaners? What's heart-breaking is how we see so many occurrences of cancers and THEN find out that this and this and this are PROBABLE CULPRITS. And what have we been doing to our children? Have you seen how the rates of asthma are climbing?
If you haven't checked out the video yet, fill in the form above and get your password. You can also contact me via email and I will be happy to put you in touch with other resources. Let's stop this madness.

Cell Phone Recycling
Speaking of cell phones, it seems like every time I change cell phone plans, I change cell phones. I can't help it. They offer 'new and improved' and fantastic rebates. So what have I been doing with my old cell phones? I've been donating them to charities.
I was amazed to find so many programs out there which will recycle cell phones and accessories. Many will pay the shipping if you to box up and mail your cell phones and assessories. Even the one I killed (I dropped it in the toilet). ((Yes I reached in and grabbed it as quick as I could but it was too late. I know YUK!)) Anyway that one was recycled, too. It helped buy rain forest land in the Amazon.
ECO-CELL is a premiere cell phone recycling program for environmentally minded fundraisers. Their passion is to provide conservation partners with the most profitable, easy to use and environmentally sound cell phone recycling program possible. (Learn More) They have drop off locations in most of the 50 states and Canada. They also take donations by mail.

Cognigen Becomes Commission River
I’ve been a Cognigen agent since 2004. It’s been great to buy cell phones, internet phone service, satellite service, and domain names through myself. I’ve paid the same price as I would pay anywhere else. AND I GET A COMMISSION CHECK.
The program has always been free. The only thing I spent money on was business cards. I’ve never pushed the program and have only sold to myself, family and friends. And it’s been good.
Well, In January, Cognigen bought Commission River and now goes by the name of Commission River. They’ve made some great additions. They still offer T-1, conference calling, long distance service, and the other products I mentioned. They still have the Best Rate Calculator. But they’ve added credit cards to their revenue stream. And besides Dish Network, they now offer Direct TV, too.
Some new features of the site include:
· Best rate cellular phone calculator (soon to be an XML feed to your own sites!)
· Best rate VOIP calculator
· Brand new GeoQuote 2.0 interface (for business broadband services)
· Brand new Ethernet quote tool (courtesy of Telarus)
· Consumer and business credit cards section - full of the best cards on the market
Commission River is free to join. Earn commissions by buying products and services through yourself and selling to your friends and family. Sponsor others into the program and benefit from their volume.
